Hydrex Test for occult bleeding in stool FOB
FOB TEST - test for occult bleeding in stool! Designed for self-testing. Result in just 5 minutes.
Product detailed description
The detection test for occult fecal blood represents a unique tool in the fight against colorectal cancer. Unfortunately, this disease can progress asymptomatically for many years and is often detected only in a very advanced stage.
For this reason, all individuals over 35 years old should undergo at least one annual examination for occult bleeding. In the case of a family history of colorectal cancer, regular checks should start at the age of 25.
FOB TEST represents a fully reliable diagnostic tool designed for home use. Its sensitivity allows the identification of specific amounts of blood in the stool, which may indicate pathological changes in the large intestine.
The test is specific to human hemoglobin, which means that no diet needs to be followed before performing the test.
FOB Test consists of a test plate, a container with an extraction solution, and an applicator for collecting stool samples. Before performing the test, it is important to study the instructions for use, which are included in the packaging.
The test is performed immediately after defecation, with the applicator immersed in three different places of the collected stool to a depth of 1 cm. It is crucial that the stool layer is thin, otherwise, the test may be invalid.
After collecting the samples, insert the applicator back into the container with the solution, close it, and shake thoroughly to mix the sample with the reagent. Then break off the plastic tip on the other side of the container and pour 2 drops of the solution into the round window on the test plate.
Test results should be read after 5 minutes. If this is not done and more than 10 minutes have elapsed, the test should be repeated. The presence of two pink stripes in the result window indicates the detection of hidden blood in the stool. If only the control strip C appears, the result is negative.
How to perform the test? To perform the FOB TEST test on a healthy colon, simply collect a stool sample in a dry and clean container. The diagnosis itself should be made immediately after the sample is taken, where time does not play a crucial role.
When using the test, also remember:
During menstruation and up to 3 days after its onset, do not collect stool samples.
Do not collect a sample when hemorrhoids bleed, blood is detected in the urine, or blood vessels are damaged during defecation.
Refrain from alcohol, aspirin, and other medications for at least 48 hours before the examination.
- Grasp the attached container, unscrew the blue cap, and use it to collect a stool sample for testing.
- The sample is taken by screwing the applicator tip into three different places in the stool to a depth of approximately 1 cm. The absorbed substance should thinly cover the tip of the applicator, otherwise, the test result may be invalid.
- Insert the applicator back into the container with the extraction solution, close it, and shake vigorously.
- Hold the container for the samples with the blue cap facing upwards and unscrew the bottom white cover.
- To thoroughly mix the sample, vigorously shake the container and use a tissue to break off its tip.
- Apply three drops of the solution to the round window on the test plate by pressing the walls of the container. Be careful not to come into physical contact with it. Measure for 5 minutes and read the test results. Dispose of the remaining sample in the toilet.
